5 a.m. rambling

Good morning! Not sure why I'm up at this hour, but since I am, I thought I'd try blogging from my phone. iPhones are amazing aren't they? Well they are now, but remind me I said that when I have carprel tunnel in my thumb.
So here's a funny story, and a lesson in letting others put things in your ear. On Friday, Special K was at work and they had someone come in to fit them for special ear plugs - safety first right? Unfortunately for Kirt though, a piece of the mold broke off in his ear. So after a nurse poked around for a while and couldn't get it out he was sent to the doctors office where they tried flushing it out and digging it out, but to no avail. Next he was sent to emerg where after 4 hours in the waiting room and more poking and prodding, they came to the conclusion it was indeed really jammed in there so an appointment was made for the next morning with an ear specialist..in Edmonton! (by now it's about 5pm, and the appointment is at 8:30 am, 5 hours away) Meanwhile, our good friends Haley & Barry (and Wade) were on their way up to Ft.mac to visit for the weekend. So basically after 7 hours of driving already, Kirt and Barry turned around and drove back to Edmonton. After a night in a sketchy motel in Boyle and a few more hours in a waiting room, the 'thing' was sucessfully removed!
There are 2 lessons here- the first is be wary when strangers want to stick objects in your ear. The second is that a good friend will drive 14 hours to visit you, but a really good friend will do it twice in one weekend!
